An abortion advocate punched a 15-year-old student in front of a Virginia Planned Parenthood Saturday, sending her to the hospital with a concussion.
At approximately 8:30 a.m. in front of Planned Parenthood in Roanoke, during a peaceful pro-life vigil, Purity Thomas, a Students for Life of America High School Fellow, was approached by an unknown assailant and assaulted. Thomas and three other members of Liberty University’s Students for Life organization were offering sidewalk counseling, as allowed by the law, across from the parking lot of the abortion mill.
In the middle of Thomas saying she would “pray” for the woman, the unidentified female began to shout epithets from in front of Planned Parenthood, saying she would “f**k them up.”
After stealing a pro-life sign reading “All people are made in the image of God,” she turned away, then came back to threaten to take another sign, asking, “Are you gonna’ do something? Is she gonna’ do something?” Without warning, she punched Thomas in the face, sending her to the ground.
She was taken to the hospital for her injuries, which include a concussion.
“It’s horrific that a minor expressing love for pregnant women was targeted for violence,” said Kristin Hawkins, president of Students for Life, in a press release. “But this is not an isolated incident. Across the country, we are witnessing a rise incidents of vandalism and violence against peaceful pro-life speech.”
Police were immediately called and a police report filed, although the assailant remains unknown.
